I think it is a very British thing that people put the kettle on as they compose their thoughts or try to make things better... I tend to be attracted by this British habit and it always somehow captures my imagination.
Lion sugar bowl and unicorn creamer - these are the animals that feature on the British coat of arms. I always loved the motifs and one day I would take them to be in the spot light.
